28 Charged with voter fraud

Massive voter fraud bust in Minnesota - 28 charged with voting illegally in 2008 Presidential election and Coleman/Franken election.  More from Minnesota Public Radio.   And there may be more charges from another county for the same election:

"In Hennepin County, Deputy County Attorney Pat Diamond says authorities are investigating 216 allegations flagged by Minnesota Majority but have yet to charge anyone from that group."

What are the penalities for voter fraud in Minnesota? I'll bet they are minimal. Maybe a small fine?

With that said, organizations such as ACORN that are expert at voter fraud know the result is all that matters. If their fraud helps elect someone, the penalty if caught doesn't matter. The fraudulent votes aren't thrown out. The election is held again.

Committing voting fraud should carry a stiff prison sentence and fine. Maybe then it would mean something.
