Lead story on Fox: NY military ballot catastrophe
Fox leads with the military ballot catastrophe in New York. New York was granted an extension to October 1 to mail military ballots. The Justice Department agreed with that extension. When the ballots failed to mail by October 1, the DOJ should have detected the problem on October 2. Instead it is now October 11 and nothing has been done. The Department of Justice Voting Section had the power and authority to sue New York seeking an order from a federal court to mail the ballots overseas immediately, Instead, the DOJ failed to implement adequate investigative procedures to detect the failure to mail ballots. Instead, almost two weeks elapsed before the Department of Justice even detected the problem. The moment the problem was detected, a lawsuit and motion for an emergency injunction should have been filed. Instead, DOJ is in "urgent talks" according to a spokesman. This repeats the pattern in other states where the DOJ is unwilling to file a lawsuit to strengthen their negotiating position, and instead the violating jurisdiction is calling the shots.
Why didn't the DOJ detect the failure of the largest city in the nation to mail military ballots for almost two weeks?
What systems are in place that would allow a state with 320,000 military voters to not mail ballots, and nobody in Washington noticed?
Why wasn't a lawsuit filed immediately?
Are legal complaints not ready to go in other states that might have failed to mail ballots - or - is talk the preferred course of action?

The big question for me is; Why is this happening? Has this always been the case. What, if any, is the politics behind this? Within each state that is in violation, what political party is running the state election dept. Why, legally and morally are these states being allowed to violate law without any reprocussions? Obviously, our government is totally inept. How can it take two years to do something about it. Continued government crime against US citizens. "By the people and for the people"?????? This country is going to shit because our government is not applying our Constitution. Just using it for their own adgendas. Oh! I'm sorry. I forgot, they no better what is good for us than we do. Even if it means violating the Constitution and breaking any law that stands in the way.

What the hell good is an AFTER THE FACT lawsuit. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for not having a ballot in the hand of EVERY SERVICE MAN/WOMAN. Nothing is final until every ballot is counted...
